I can't believe Mrs. Sutton let me switch into a class I've already taken, Max thought, stepping out of the main office with his new schedule and Renesmee (Interesting name, he added) Cullen's in the other hand. It took Max awhile to describe the girl, seeing as he couldn't get past telling the secretary that she was the best looking girl of the new group, and it took a while for Mrs. Sutton to give up her schedule, let alone rearrange his, but she did. And now Max couldn't get the stupid grin plastered to his face off.
He walked past his locker, and Cole, and gave him a nod, showing him Renesmee's schedule in his hand. He didn't stop to talk, except to say, "I'll talk to you at lunch." He smirked and kept walking, wanting to get to class to see Renesmee and get a seat by her before some other horny teenage guy in school did.
Max walked down the hall, focused on his destination, and entered Mr. Hagen's eleventh grade biology class. Mr. Hagen gave him a look as if to say, Didn't you pass last year?, but Max didn't care. He looked around the room quickly, checking the lab tables, before he spotted her, sitting at one of the tables toward the middle alone. He took a deep breath and walked over to her, swinging his leg over the stool and looking at her. "Hey. I'm Max. I see you're in need of a lab partner," he said, smiling at her, hoping she didn't think he was a freak.

Renesmee had left the parking lot before the rest of her family mainly because she was the only one in her first class. How did that happen anyways? Wasn't the plan of being at school together was to be in classes together. And here in this class alone, she couldn't keep an eye out for Maddie. Yes, she could listen in to hear of any girl's going crazy, but she physically couldn't help instantly.
To her surprise, she was one of the first to arrive in the class. Walking up, and checking in with Mr. Hagen, Renesmee then turned to sit at one of the lab benches. For a moment she contemplated sitting in the back, and blocking off the second chair, but against that thought, she took a seat in the middle, and left the other chair open. Who knew, maybe, by some stroke of luck, Maddie and Jenson would appear in the room. But to her dismay, it wasn't a family member who showed up behind her.
Renesmee recognized the voice, even before turning to see if her thoughts we're correct. As thought, it was exactly whom she thought; the boy from the lot. "Renesmee," She said, with a small smile, to the boy. As much as his actions did bother her in the parking lot, she couldn't be flat out mean to him. "Yes, I do," She said to him. Looking around the room, she saw that it was now more full than it was even a few short minutes ago. "Nobody else had offered, shock." She added in, under her breath quietly.

Max shook his head at Renesmee's comment. "Nah, it's not really a shock. Anytime a new kid comes, or in your case, family comes, all the kids around here just go into what I like to call 'oh-my-gosh-new-kids-must-stare' mode. Well, I can't say all kids, because I'm talking to you," he said with a smile. He looked at the clock, and noticing they still had seven minutes until class officially started, Max closed his book.
"Don't want to look to excited for biology class," he said, laughing. Noting the time, he added, "So, Renesmee, tell me about yourself. And maybe, if you're lucky, I'll bore you with my life story," he said, looking at her, hoping she didn't retch over his lame joke.

Renesmee couldn't help but let a small, very small, smile grow on her face at Max trying to make sense of why nobody else had talked to her, or her family. She wasn't dumb, she wasn't born yesterday. She knew why people wouldn't talk to them - They, her and her family, we're beautiful, and highly intimidating, especially now that they growing in numbers.
"Oh yes, the "new-kids-must-stare" look. I think that's a look everyone is born with, not one that a school acquires." She said, looking down at her book the whole time. This conversation was more than she expect to have with a human on the first day, but she couldn't just be flat out rude, that just wasn't in her nature.
"So, Renesmee, tell me about yourself..."
[/i] Renesmee heard Max ask, as he then went to on to talk about how he would share is story with her after. Renesmee paused for a moment, thinking of what to say. 'I'm part vampire, and have been imprinted on by a shapeshifter. OH, and I'm really thirty' Ha, not. That would be what she would say if she wanted to be thrown in an asylum. "I just moved here with my family literally like, just over a week ago from Washington state." Renesmee told him, giving him the most vague description of her life possible. "Oh, and I have a boyfriend too, a really great guy he is." Rensemee added in, with a small smirk on her face, to see what her new admirers thoughts on this would be. Max nodded as Renesmee went on about her and her family, but his eyed widened in shock as she mentioned a boyfriend. Woah, didn't see that one coming. Better not let Cole know, though, or he'll think I'm losing my game, he thought to himself, trying to recover.
"Boyfriend, huh? That's cool. Are you guys on a long distance relationship type deal?' he asked, hoping her answer was yes. How can it not be? I mean, who let's their teenage son go and live with his girlfriend across the country when she moves? he asked himself. It only made sense. And Max was hoping that she'd be sad and that he could comfort her. So maybe she wouldn't be his girlfriend now, but in the future, he could see it happening. He kept his hopes high.
"Well, there's really not much to say about me. I was born and raised in Newark and I don't have a girlfriend," he said, although he was sure she could already tell. "Oh, and I've taken this class before, so if you need help, I'm here," he added, smirking and showing her his folder of all the homework from last year he'd pulled out of his car after not cleaning it all summer.

Renesmee allowed a small smile out of humor grow on her face after telling Max about her boyfriend, after seeing his eyes widen in shock. Figures, all guys were alike. It was time's like these where Renesmee wished she had her dad's power. Just imagining what went through Max's mind when she told him about Jacob.
"The long distance thing... yeah, I guess that's what we're doing, and its been good so far," Renesmee told him, feeling the need to leave out that he too was in New York, it could end up more fun this way when Jacob randomly appeared out of no where.
As he went on about his condensed life story, Renesmee wondered why he was taking this class again if he had done it before. "As much fun as help from you sounds, I'm pretty good in bio, and I've got a few older siblings." She told him, trying to 'let him down easy'. Truthfully, she didn't need help from him. She too had taken this course before, as did her father, and mother, and all her other family members... numerous times. "Who knows, maybe you'll need help from me."
[[sorry if its crappy. blame demi, she's been stealing all my good posts.]]

Max listened, mostly, for Renesmee's explanation on her boyfriend and their relationship. He noted that she'd said it was good so far, and Max smiled on the inside. Well, let's hope the distance turns them against each other. I know being across the country would probably make me loose interest, he thought to himself. I'll just be her friend until that day comes, he added.
He laughed at her remarks about him needing help from her. Well, that may be true. Max had just barely passed last year, but she didn't have to know that. "I might take you up on that offer," Max said, before backtracking. "And yeah, your older siblings do look like they can help. They look....experienced," he said looking for the right word.
He thought back to earlier that morning in the parking lot, looking at the new family for the first time. Yes, he'd noticed how beautiful they all were at first, but he'd also noticed how they'd presented themselves, standing very tall and proper, and it looked like their speech was more reformed than the rest of the kids at school. It puzzled him, but he shrugged it off. After all, who really cared about that?
Max looked quickly at the clock, seeing that there were two minutes left before the bell rang, and before Mr. Hagen called them all to be quiet, he spoke quickly. "So, I know you're gonna want to sit with your family at lunch today, and that's cool, but if you ever get bored with them, you can always sit with me and my friends," he offered, hoping that didn't sound to desperate.

As he laughed, at her idea of her helping him, Renesmee felt like rolling her eyes. Another guy thinking that he was better than the girls, or at least that's how that laugh made him seem. Although she had taken this class a few times before, a lot less than the rest of her family, but she did grasp it quite easily, and, like always, she had planned on being able to get by just fine, and by using old labs when possible.
Renesmee sat with her arms hugging her book, while still looking at the boy as he spoke of how her siblings looked experienced. Experienced? What did that mean? "Alright," She added in, quietly, with a slight confused tone.
As the teacher started to hush the rest of the class, Renesmee figured that it was time for the start of class, but instead of quieting up, Max began speaking up once more about sitting with him at lunch whenever she wanted. Renesmee would rather sit with her family, it would be easier for eating purposes. "Um, thanks. I'll keep that offer in mind, I guess." She said, quietly as the teacher hushed others, not wanting to be completely rude, hence why she was still talking.
