likes:
- being able to stay out of the spotlight
- not being a teenager anymore
- manners in others
dislikes:
- vampires
- his younger brother
- immaturity, especially in girls
ambitions:
- to die by natural causes
abilities:
- can do a backflip.
secrets:
- the existence of his ability
- has a fear of heights
personality:
If Kyle doesn't know you, he's mainly that guy that stays awkwardly quiet, speaking almost only when spoken to, in spite of usually wanting to be politely friendly. It's just that plain and simple. If you're equally shy, there's probably not a really good chance the friendship's going to go somewhere, unless you connect with him on some major level in the process.
If Kyle does know you, and he does like you, he will, while still somewhat quiet, try to make conversation, daring even to break out a smile or two. He's not quite an introvert around his friends, but he's definitely no extrovert, either, rarely making physical contact except with the best of friends.
If Kyle does know you, and he doesn't like you, he'll follow one of two paths: act like he doesn't know you, or be unnaturally open with how he feels about you. The level of the reaction jointly variates with the level of dislike.

history:
Kyle Steven Barrington was born to Dustyn and Alicia Barrington on September 23, 2018 in Portland, Oregon. Growing up with _______, he had a happy, pleasant childhood until he was fourteen. One warm, muggy summer's evening, his parents, having taken an evening off, were driving home from a date in northern California when a drunk driver careened across the road, killing both on impact and orphaning their two sons. The resulting grief split Kyle and ______ apart both physically and emotionally, as, since both were minors, they were thusly enlisted in the U.S. foster care system.
Neither knowing nor caring of his brother's whereabouts, Kyle was passed around from rough foster home to rough foster home until he finally landed in the Newark home of Maria and Frank Orson, a stay-at-home mom and a doctor, respectively. There, it seemed that he fit in almost instantaneously with both of their genuinely caring, respectful personalities, and, for the first time in a long time, he was finally... happy.
...well, until her. She- he can't even bring himself to remember her name these days- met Kyle when the world seemed finally so bright, and she seemed to only make it brighter... Until, when they were quite serious, she left him without a word, without any sort of goodbye or explanation but a terse note left scribbled on a napkin when he'd gotten up to use the restroom during a date.
The world, so many weeks later, was finally coming back into perspective from so long ago, though the crater she'd left behind in him still ached in the quiet moments like the ride home from the restaurant. But Kyle was learning to cope, learning to force himself to push on for the silver lining. For a graduation present, the Orsons adopted him, and he, for exactly two years, could very nearly see the world in a grain of sand as so long before her.
...until his twentieth birthday. Fate, it seemed, wasn't quite finished dealing Kyle blows. One evening, as he returned from an evening out with friends, he stumbled in upon a dark figure crouching over the Orsons' bed, draining the life from them, their bed soaked with blood as the figure took to flight through the window--
And now we come to present-day Kyle Orson. Living alone in the Orson's house after their funeral, he presses on day-to-day, doing his best to push away the skeletons in his closet. He's not an emo; he's just doing his best to smile his way through life, avoiding all reminders of her or his parents.
"You will never put me through that again."
