eyes: her eyes change colour, depending on the time of her last feed, and what she had fed on. they'll turn from black to amber, when she's fed on animals, or red, if she has red on humans. She'll wear contacts whenever she's in public so that people don't notice her unusually coloured eyes.
hair: Maddie's hair is dark brown/chestnut in colour and reaches just past her shoulders. The two most usual styles she has it in are straight, or left natural where it is more wavy.
height: 5ft 3inches
weight: 115lbs.
distinguishing features: none really, except for her red eyes at times.
general appearance: Maddie is very short, standing at a little over 5 foot. Her brown hair is just over shoulder-length when left natural, but would be longer if she straightened it. However, she barely does. She dresses however she likes, but it normally consists of a pair of jeans, a print tee-shirt, a hoodie and her favourite pair of trainers. She prefers to not get noticed and almost merge into the background a lot of the time. Alice isn't to happy about Maddie's fashion sense.
As for make-up, Maddie doesn't leave the house without her eye-liner and lip gloss. But unless it's a special occasion, that's about all she wears.
"I will always tell you the truth."

likes: Reading, most music, football (also known as soccer ), human blood, her adoptive family, writing.
dislikes: having to leave her old life behind, feeling weak, hunting humans, rap music.
ambitions: To live up to her 'Cullen' status. She feels weak because she doesn't survive on animals alone, and therefore, she believes she isn't 100% worthy of living with them. She wants to change, but isn't sure how.
abilities: Madison's ability is being able to mimic other vampire's powers. She can only do it when the other vampire is quite close, and can only mimic one power at a time. If there is more than one vampire with an ability close, she would have to channel all her thoughts onto the desired power, which make's her more vulnerable in large groups of vampires.
secrets: She hunts both animals and humans (mainly humans) but has only told the Cullens about hunting animals.
personality: Maddie is a young vampire who is still trying to come to terms with what had happened to her. Before she was turned, Maddie was your average girl. She was an aspiring journalist and loved her job. She was excellent in new and demanding situations, always able to almost change so that things could be done. She was care-free and completely happy with her life. She loved having a good time with her friends and was proving to be a social climber. She had a close family and what she considered to be the best friends anyone could imagine having.
After the change, Madison became quieter less like the Maddie that she had been before. During most of her vampire life, she has been engulfed with fear: scared of killing her family or friends, fear of not living up to her new families bizarre status in this new world... She wants to fit in with the Cullen's eating habits, but she just finds it so hard. She'll hunt with them before sneaking off in the night to hunt on her own. Although she hasn't told them of her secret lifestyle, she knows that they have probably figured it out, with the help of Alice's premonitions. But she's afraid to admit it to them, Carlisle especially, as she doesn't want to admit to not being strong enough.
"Don't get your family slaughtered for pride."

history: Madison was born in California on the 24th September, 1980. She was the eldest child of Caryn and Simon Rhys, with her little sister, Lillian (Lily), being 6 years younger. Despite the age difference, Maddie and Lily got on well. They'd go and watch a film every Wednesday after school, followed by ice-cream as they walked home. Madison's home was a happy one, that was until Maddie was 14. She had absolutely no idea why, but her father packed both his and Madison's bags, and left.
Later on in life, her dad told her the reason as to why they had left. Her mother had been having an affair, and Lily, who she had grown up thinking that she was her sister, was in fact her half-sister. Madison was distraught, but she missed Lily. She talked to her dad, and before long the two sisters were back at the movies every Wednesday.
Maddie went to university and majored in English. When she left, she moved to Newark, NY and became a journalist. She loved her new life in the city, but kept in touch with her family, returning to California often and inviting them up to Newark too. It felt as though she was on a constant high, and didn't know when she'd come back down.
However, when she did, it was without warning.
She was walking home from work. It was about 8pm, as Maddie had been working late. She'd been doing that a lot recently, as her boss was on the look out for someone that could be promoted. Maddie was sure she could get the place if she worked hard enough for it. She'd walked this way so many times that she could probably do it with her eyes closed. She was around 5 minutes away from her apartment when she stepped into the road to cross at the traffic lights. Driving down the road, breaking the speed limit easily, were a couple of drunk guys who weren't looking where they were going. They weren't about to stop for Maddie either. The car collided with Maddie and sent her flying.
The next thing she remembers is waking up to a room of complete strangers. It scared Maddie and she almost died as the smallest member of the group walked right up to her and gave her a hug, introducing herself as Alice. It took several weeks for the family, who were called the Cullens, to explain to Maddie what had happened to her, mostly because she didn't want to believe it. She'd never believed in vampires when she had lived with her parents, or when she was at university, or when she moved to Newark. Now not only was she forced to believe it, she was actually living it too.
Luckily, her new family were easy to get along with, and she grew to like them all very quickly. They were extremely helpful to her, taking her hunting whenever she asked, even if it was only animal blood.
"You will never put me through that again."

As Chelsey sat in the window seat, she began noticing little quirks that the passers-by each held. For example, the man who was wearing a denim jacket had a limp in his left leg, and the girl who was walking down the street in only a skirt and t-shirt was not only shivering like crazy, but also not looking where she was going, as her eyes were fixed up the guy who looked around Chelsey's age, probably older, in the leather jacket walking in the opposite direction. She chuckled to herself before taking another sip of her drink.
For reasons unknown to her, Chelsey's eyes had also managed to stay almost glued on him. Something didn't seem quite right about him. She looked at his jacket, a bit bewildered by the holes in it, before her vision changed dramatically. Suddenly he was standing in between a woman and someone with a gun, she couldn't tell who any of them were, which was a little comforting, at least it wasn't her brother. She watched in horror as shots were fired at the leather jacket guy, and then she watched in amazement as the bullets seemed to fly back the way they had came from, hitting the armed person in the shoulder. The woman fled and the police were soon there.
She was so captivated by what had happened previously that day that she didn't notice that the guy in the leather jacket had entered the coffee shop and was sitting just a few feet away. Only his greeting pulled her out of what would look to be a trance. She turned to face him, and smiled. "Hi," She said, breathing far too deeply after her vision for someone who was just having a drink. She tried to calm it down, and ran a hand through her hair, wondering whether or not to confront him about what she had just seen. He'd probably think she was crazy, and as this was only the second time it had happened, she couldn't be sure whether it could be trusted or not: the previous time may have been a fluke for all she knew.
But she couldn't leave it. So she attempted to think of a cunning way of bringing the topic up. "Nice jacket, shame about the holes though..."
